- Diabetes Insipidus
- SYMPTOMS include excessive thirst and urination, drinking and eliminating
- as much as 40 quarts of fluids each day.
- CAUSES. A deficiency of pituitary hormone (called vasopressin) needed by the
- kidneys for regular reabsorption of water from the urine. May be congenital
- or the result of tumor, injury or infection.
- TREATMENT. Medication will be prescribed for effective control.
